Welcome to Northside Elementary's Web site. I am excited to have the opportunity to tell you a little about myself and our school. My name is Mandy Ambrose (on left) and I am privileged to serve as Northside's Principal. I spent the first eight years of my teaching career in Louisiana, my home state. I was fortunate that my husband's career path lead us here, and I was able to become a part of the Clinton Public School District. I began my career in CPSD as a third grade teacher at Northside, I then became assistant principal, and am now Principal. Moving to this area was one of the best decisions that we have ever made!Mrs. Alexander (on right) is Northside's Assistant Principal. Mrs. Alexander is a Mississippi native and has spent her entire educational and teaching career in Clinton. Her broad range of experience is an asset to Northside and the Clinton Public School District.The students who attend Northside are blessed to spend their days with a faculty that always puts children first. We strive to meet the educational and emotional needs of each student by ensuring engaging instruction and opportunities to be challenged. Heather BryantNorthside Librarianhbryant@clintonpublicschools.comMy name is Heather Bryant and I am the librarian here at Northside Elementary. I am a graduate of Clinton Public Schools and feel so blessed to be able to teach here. I went to college at Mississippi College and majored in Elementary Education. Before this year, I spent 13 years in the classroom. This is my first year as librarian and I am so very excited to have this position! I have such a huge passion for reading and for getting children excited about reading. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with each of the students here!

The Clinton Public School District strives to meet the needs of all students. CPSD identifies and works with struggling learners in all settings utilizing a data driven decision making process to target students for supplemental support. The model consists of three tiers or levels of instruction. These levels include: Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III.Tier I consists of quality classroom instruction for all students based on the MS Curriculum Frameworks. Students in Tier I are benchmarked in the Fall, Winter, and Spring for academic progress.
Tier II is composed of focused supplemental instruction for students who are not being successful in Tier I. Tier II instruction is provided by an intervention specialist consisting of 30 minutes of targeted instructional interventions based on the student’s individual needs. Students are identified for Tier II instruction if they score below target norms on the AIMSweb Reading and Math Assessments or if they show great educational need. Students in Tier II are progress monitored bi-weekly for academic growth. Instruction is provided in a small group setting.
Tier III is a system of intensive interventions specifically designed to meet the individual needs of students who have not been successful in Tiers I and II. Tier III instruction is provided by an Intervention Specialist and consists of an hour a day of individualized instruction based on the student’s weaknesses as identified by a variety of assessments. Students in Tier III are progress monitored weekly for academic growth. Instruction is one-on-one.
The RTI model has proven to be very beneficial in moving all students toward proficiency.
